Chris van der Merwe started with HHM as an intern in 2019 and quickly transitioned to a full time employee in the dealership services department. As a senior accountant, Chris provides value-added services such as cash forecasting and planning, financing transaction, and tax support for a variety of clients, primarily in the dealership industry. Chris’ consistency and drive to succeed are a few of the qualities that help him excel in his role. Prior to joining HHM, Chris gained experience in both private and public accounting. Through a position at Porsche of Chattanooga, he was able to assist the general manager in financial statement analysis and participate in dealer client track events. Chris is proud of his South African heritage and is bilingual, speaking English and Afrikaans. Since he speaks fluent Afrikaans, he can also communicate in Dutch and Flemish. When he’s not in the office, Chris spends time with his wife and daughter, enjoys kayaking, fishing, and trying new local restaurants.
